
Śrī Guru Viṣṇupāda Stutiḥ
śrīguruḥ svayaṁ śrīrāmanātham,
śrīviṣṇupādaṁ viśvanāthanātham॥
श्रीगुरुः स्वयं श्रीरामनाथम् ।
श्रीविष्णुपादं विश्वनाथनाथम् ॥
Śrī Guru Pādukā Dhyāna Stutiḥ

muktā-vidruma-hema-hīra-ghaṭite śrī-pīṭha-rāja-uttame
dīvyantau vilasat-nisarga-paramānanda-prakāśa-ādbhute ।
visphūrjat-taruṇārka-koṭi-kiraṇa-vyākīrṇa-śuddhāmbare
sat-cit-rūpa-ghane ghana-āgha-timira-stoma-eka-nāśa-udbhaṭe ।।
bhaktānāṃ śirasi prapañcha-paṭalī-phulla-sahasra-cchade
padme ’khaṇḍa-candra-maṇḍala-agate śrī-haṃsa-pīṭha-uttame ।
tiṣṭhantyau nija-pūrṇa-dhāmani sadā kalyāṇa-divya-āspade
māyā-moha-mada-andhakāra-śamane sevye vibhoḥ pāduke ।।
मुक्ता-विद्रुम-हेम-हीर-घटिते श्रीपीठराजोत्तमे ।
दीव्यन्तौ विलसत्-निसर्ग-परमानन्दप्रकाशाद्भुते ॥
विस्फूर्जत्- तरुणार्ककोटि किरणव्याकीर्ण शुद्धाम्बरे ।
सत्-चित्-रूप-घने घनाघ-तिमिर-स्तोमैक-नाशोद्भटे ॥
भक्तानां शिरसि प्रकाश पटली फुल्लत्-सहस्रच्छदे ।
पद्मेऽखण्डचन्द्रमण्डलगते श्रीहंसपीठोत्तमे ॥
तिष्ठन्त्यौ निजपूर्णधामनि सदा कल्याणदिव्यास्पदे ।
माया-मोह-मदान्धकारशमने सेव्ये विभोः पादुके ॥
muktā-vidruma-hema-hīra-ghaṭite śrī-pīṭha-rāja-uttame
“In the supreme royal seat of the Goddess—
adorned with pearls, coral, gold, and precious diamonds—”
This describes the Śrī-Pīṭha, the highest throne of Devī, made of the most radiant substances of the subtle worlds (not merely physical jewels).
It is the Rāja-pīṭha, the supreme cosmic throne where Śakti reveals Her sovereignty.
dīvyantau vilasat-nisarga-paramānanda-prakāśa-ādbhute ।
“Where two divine effulgences shine brilliantly—
astonishing with the natural radiance of supreme bliss.”
“Dīvyantau” = two resplendent ones.
These are the two Pādukās, shining with intrinsic bliss and divine light.
They are not illuminated from outside—their glow is svayam-prakāśa.
visphūrjat-taruṇārka-koṭi-kiraṇa-vyākīrṇa-śuddhāmbare
“In the pure expanse filled with the flashing rays
of ten million young suns bursting forth,”
This is hyper-light:
The space around the Pādukās shines with the brilliance of countless rising suns.
“Śuddhāmbara” = pure, stainless ether.
sat-cit-rūpa-ghane ghana-āgha-timira-stoma-eka-nāśa-udbhaṭe ।।
“In that dense mass of sat and cit—
that mighty radiance which alone destroys the compact darkness
of sin, ignorance, and limitation.”
ghane sat-cit-rūpe = the compact, solid, tangible embodiment of Existence & Consciousness
ghana-āgha-timira-stoma = the thick conglomerate of ignorance & karmic darkness
eka-nāśa-udbhaṭe = the one force that utterly annihilates it
This means:
The Pādukās themselves are the condensed form of Brahma-jñāna that destroys avidyā.
bhaktānāṃ śirasi prapañcha-paṭalī-phulla-sahasra-cchade
“On the thousand-petalled lotus that blossoms
upon the heads of devotees—beyond the veil of the world—”
“śirasi” = at the crown
“sahasra-cchada” = the thousand-petalled lotus (Sahasrāra)
“prapañcha-paṭalī-phulla” = blossomed open beyond worldly coverings
This implies:
In the sahasrāra of the true devotee, the Pādukās establish themselves.
padme ’khaṇḍa-candra-maṇḍala-agate śrī-haṃsa-pīṭha-uttame ।
“In that lotus, resting upon the indivisible full-moon disc,
is the supreme Śrī-Haṃsa Pīṭha.”
The full-moon mandala symbolizes:
purity, fullness, non-duality and nectar (amṛta)
The Śrī-Haṃsa Pīṭha is the seat of transcendent consciousness:
the abode of the Parāhaṃsa-tattva, the prāṇa-nāda-haṃsa principle.
tiṣṭhantyau nija-pūrṇa-dhāmani sadā kalyāṇa-divya-āspade
“There the two (Pādukās) eternally abide
in Their own complete, perfect realm—
the divine abode of auspiciousness.”
The Pādukās are not symbols;
they are the manifestation of the Devī’s full Self (pūrṇa-dhāman).
They dwell eternally and radiate welfare, grace, and light.
māyā-moha-mada-andhakāra-śamane sevye vibhoḥ pāduke ।।
“O venerable Pādukās of the Lord!
You are worshipped because You dispel the darkness
of māyā, delusion, and ego-intoxication.”
māyā = the cosmic illusion
moha = personal delusion
mada = ego-pride
All three are forms of darkness that the Pādukās destroy.
Thus the verse ends with a direct salutation to the Pādukās as liberators from ignorance.
